Face behind the business
Hello there! I’m Alexis Askew, an aspiring author in love with romantasy. I grew up knowing I wanted to someday be an author but ended up studying Game Design and Development at GSU, where I got my bachelor’s degree and a minor in English. However, by the end of my college years, I knew writing and editing were passions I couldn’t let go of. From there, I began freelancing and have since found my calling.
Outside of work, I’m a homebody who spends most of her time with her cats and husband while drinking way too much coffee. I’m currently working on a dark fantasy romance book inspired by blood bending.
And if you’re curious where the name Early Owl originates from, it’s a combination of Night Owl and Early Bird, originally used for a fantasy coffee shop location in the early draft of my book. I think it perfectly describes us writers who work late into the night or early in the morning to bring our dreams to life.
Certifications
“Alexis is a fantastic editor. She edits in a way that helps bring out an author’s unique writing style without taking away their voice. That is so important to me, and Alexis totally gets it. I don’t want to lose the uniqueness I feel my poetic writing style has, and she’s the FIRST editor I’ve ever worked with that helped me stay true to me while fixing all the necessary changes and catching the grammatical errors. I LOVE her feedback and working with her has truly been a blessing! She’s my auto buy editor and I can’t wait to work with her again on book three of The Tendrils of Light Series!
- Victoria M Sorenson, Author of the Tendrils of Light Series
“Alexis was a godsent for my book!! Her keen eye for story development, and ability to quickly comb through a manuscript while still soaking in and developing an interest in the story is awesome. She gave me corrections without making me feel like any less of a writer.”
- Shalom Falk
